A family-owned farm rooted in land stewardship, sustainability, and celebration
At the Honeysuckle Tea House, our story is intricately woven into the very fabric of the land we cherish. The Tea House began as an apothecary café and has since blossomed into a vibrant working farm, where nature and human experience meet in unforgettable ways.
Today, we steward the land with care, cultivating medicinal herbs for our teas, growing wildflowers and produce for events, and creating regenerative experiences that celebrate the seasons and the people who gather here.
We are Svetlana and Jeff Fisher, the owners of Honeysuckle Farm. As land stewards based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, we’re grateful to care for this place and welcome others into it.
Sustainably Built - With the Land in Mind
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. The Honeysuckle Tea House was constructed using repurposed shipping containers, old telephone poles and timber harvested directly from the farm. Much of the wood you see around the farm - from the magnificent entrance gates to bar tops - comes from trees milled right here on-site.
This intentional approach reflects our broader commitment to land conservation and low-impact development. We build with what the land gives us, and we give back through care, cultivation, and community use.
A Working Farm Rooted in Regeneration
Our farm is home to fruit orchards, culinary and medicinal herbs, muscadine grapes, berries, flowers, and pollinator-friendly gardens. These ingredients find their way into our teas, meads, elixirs, and seasonal menus.
Regenerative agriculture isn’t just a philosophy - it is a daily practice. We embrace methods that restore soil health, enhance biodiversity, and respect natural cycles. Every cup of tea or handcrafted drink is a small taste of the land itself.
We also co-lead the Center for Regenerative Agriculture, working with the Union Grove Farm and other farmers in our region to promote soil health, ecosystem restoration, and long-term land viability.
A Place to Gather and Celebrate
The Honeysuckle is more than a farm - it is a gathering place.
We host weddings, retreats, and private events throughout the year, and offer seasonal public experiences: farm tours, bar nights, tea parties and community dinners under the stars. Guests are invited to explore the gardens, sip from our bar, and take in the quiet joy of open space.
We also co-own and operate The Honeysuckle at Union Grove Farm, a second venue with expansive fields, vineyard views, and indoor-outdoor spaces for private celebrations and immersive experiences.
The Land is the Story
As you wander through our fields and gardens, you’ll feel the magic of this place—the whisper of trees, the bloom of fresh herbs, the energy of something still growing.
Our role is to care for this land and open it to others in a way that feels meaningful, grounded, and respectful. The experiences we create here - from a couple’s wedding day to a glass of herbal mead - are rooted in the land and the people who tend it.
Built by Family And Those Who Become Family
Everything you see here is made possible by the people who work with us. Some are family by blood, others become family through shared purpose and years of building together. From farm staff to bar team, from tree millers to event hosts, this place runs on real relationships and deep roots. We’re honored to do this work and even more honored to share it.
